The London Welsh Young Instrumentalist Competition was launched for the first time as part of the Festival of Welsh Music in London in May 2025.
Audiences were treated to the incredible talent of our prelimary performers during the day, followed by our four grand finalists bringing their extra special mucial flare to the Night of the Choir Concert in the evening. We're very proud of all of our finalists and look forward to seeing what they will do next in their musical careers.

Sponsors
We’re extremely grateful to our sponsors for their contributions to our competition prizes:
Glenys Kinnock enjoyed music of nearly every kind, particularly solo performances by young singers or musicians. She said that it showed “a special form of talent – bravery!”, probably because of her own memories of singing in eisteddfodau and cymanfaoedd canu as a youngster in Anglesey.
Martin, Lord Thomas of Gresford OBE, KC is the Honorary President of the London Welsh Chorale. He has kindly donated to the London Welsh Young Instrumentalist Competition.
Caradoc Consulting Limited offers advisory services to fundraisers and philanthropists working with education charities in England and Wales.
