The second Festival of Welsh Music in London took place on 16-17 May 2025. A fantastic weekend of wonderful Welsh music events.
Here are some highlights:
Beautiful singing and nostalgia reigned during the Night of the Choirs Concert with performances of Welsh classics from Côr Penllys, Borough Welsh Choir, Chorate and the London Welsh Chorale at the Welsh Church of Central London.
The exceptional performances of our four talented finalists in the London Welsh Young Instrumentalist Competition
The privilege of having Sir Karl Jenkins, Owain Arwel Hughes and Edward-Rhys Harry conduct the choirs and the British Sinfonietta in performances of contemporary Welsh music during the Gala Concert at Regent Hall.
Premiere performances at our Gala Concert of new arrangements of well-loved music by Sir Karl Jenkins and Dilys Elwyn-Edwards as well as a brand new Festival piece composed by our Artistic Director, Edward-Rhys Harry, especially for the event.
The wonderful voices of tenor Robyn Lyn Evans, mezzo-soprano Angharad K Davies and actor Gethin Alderman adding their wonderful talent to our Gala Concert.
The coming together of four choirs - The Malmesbury Singers, The Harry Ensemble, Schola Cantorum of The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School and the London Welsh Chorale - to bring to life the rarely-performed and dramatic work St Teilo by William Mathias.

Talented, up-and-coming musicians each performed pieces from their repertoires to compete for a place in the London Welsh Young Instrumentalist Competition Final.

Visiting mixed-voice choirs showcased their repertoire for a wonderful evening of Welsh choral music. Grand finalists from the London Welsh Young Instrumentalist Competition also performed to compete for 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes as well as for the Audience Prize.
